Allison Cara Tolman has been an actress for over 20 years. She is best known for her role as Molly Solverson in the first season of Fargo, the first season of FX TV show Fargo. She has earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. Tolman was raised with three older siblings and one younger. She starred on the FX criminal comedy Fargo's initial season. Fargo was based on Coen Brothers' 1996 film with the same title. The show starred Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman alongside Bob Odenkirk. Tolman received praise for her performance as Minnesota Police Officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair wrote that Tolman "calmly and assuredly stole" the show. She won the Critics' Choice Television Award as Best Supporting Actress in a Film/Miniseries and was nominated for Best Actress at both the Emmy Awards & Golden Globes for her role. The same time, in the same year it was revealed that Tolman will be playing a double guest role on The Mindy Project, playing Abby Berman, a romance novelist. In 2015, she played the role of a support on Michael Dougherty s comedy horror movie Krampus. Her breakout performance in the role of Fargo led her to decline several supporting parts, including the roles of mothers as well as best friend and wife.
